Tasqut ‘Amirika مرگ بر امریکا (Down with America)
Taleqani Subway Station, Tehran Iran
It was a privilege and an honour to travel around Iran in 2018 as part of a silk road adventure. There is not a more beautiful culture or people to be found and everywhere we went we were met with open friendliness and a peaceful people. So, it came as a shock to find anti-American sediment so prominent in Tehran. To be fair it is manly centric to and around the ex-American embassy now called the “US Den of Espionage Museum”, home to some of this part of the world’s most shameful acts. America’s total dishonesty and hidden agenda against Iran and Iran’s retaliation to it back on November 4th, 1979. Iranian students over-ran the embassy and took 50 people hostage for 444 days. What they found inside the embassy itself was covert spying and sophisticated communication equipment being used for reporting of gathered information. This photo shows that history and Iran will probably not forget this time but, normal every day life does go on.Below are some more of the graffiti in and around the embassy.
