Korunma (Warding off the Evil Eye)
Cappadocia, Turkey
It was a great juxtaposition to see this incredible landscape through a curtain of tradition supersition. The tradition being that you buy an evil eye and hang it on these trees, and it allows you a wish and wards off evil. My wish is to go back again. Interestedly, “warding off the evil eye” translates into one word, “protection”. Below are some more images from around Cappodocia.
