Thalath qitt wasayidatin? (Three cats and a lady?) ثلاث قطط وسيدة؟
On the streets of Al Balad, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
One of the six images left at Red Peppa in Ballarat, this image was taken in Saudi Arabia where women must wear the Hijab following Islamic modesty laws. While being guided around the old city in Jeddah, I managed to capture three cats just hanging out, checking each other out and our guide in front of us accidentally showing a bit of leg…not really adhering to the modesty rules. This was one of the phrases that got lost in translation. Thalath qitt wasayidatin Translates back to English as “Three girls and two woman”, no mention of cats. Below are some more images of the many cats we found wondering the streets.
